About Gina

Gina Abate joined Edwards in 2013 as Senior Vice President, was appointed President later that year, and became CEO in 2016. Today, she is responsible for the direction, leadership, and performance of the organization.

Gina provides executive oversight across the company, including service delivery, contracts, finance, human resources, business development, proposals, and technology solutions. Under her leadership, Edwards expanded its capabilities to include cybersecurity and IT services, complementing its established enterprise management and training expertise.

With more than 30 years of executive, technical, and business management experience, Gina brings a broad perspective to strategic planning and organizational growth. Her career spans both Federal Government service and the commercial contracting sector, including responsibility for multiple contracts, large-scale IT programs, and annual revenues exceeding $120 million.

Before joining Edwards, Gina served as a Vice President with NTT Data Federal Systems, formerly Keane Federal Systems, and BAE Systems. Her experience includes leading organizations across the full range of IT services, from program management through operations and delivery.

Gina has also been active in Maryland’s cybersecurity and business communities. She served for six years on the Board of Directors of the Cybersecurity Association of Maryland, including service as Chair and Past Chair from 2018 through 2021. Her leadership and contributions to technology have been recognized by The Daily Record, including recognition as one of Maryland’s Most Influential Marylanders and as a Most Admired CEO.

Gina holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Texas Lutheran University and a Paralegal Master’s Certificate from Southwest Texas State University.
