Course Description

This is the curriculum for the CMMC Certified Professional (CCP 2.0) course offered by Edwards Performance Solutions at the CEIC West 2025 conference. The live portions of this class will take place May 19-20 at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, NV. Prior to the live portions of the class, students will be granted access to self-paced online learning modules. Students enrolled in this curriculum are expected to complete all self-paced portions of the course as well as participate in two days of live in-person training. 

Students enrolled in this hybrid curriculum will have access to interactive e-learning modules or recorded lectures or discussions for the following CCP Exam Blueprint domains:

  1. CMMC Ecosystem
  2. CMMC-AB Code of Professional Conduct
  3. CMMC Governance and Source Documents
  4. CMMC Model Construct and Implementation Evaluation

The live in-person training sessions will include lessons on the following CCP Exam Blueprint domains:

  1. Scoping
  2. CMMC Assessment Process (CAP)

Students are encouraged to complete all self-paced modules prior to their in-person training. 

Following successful completion of all parts of this training, student course completion records will be submitted to CAICO/The Cyber AB allowing students to register for the CCP Exam.

Prerequisites

Over the course of this class, we will take a deep dive into Scoping and the individual practices listed in the Assessment Guide. We advise that you begin this class with a familiarity with these topics’ source documents, listed below:

This CMMC Certified Professional (CCP) course provides a structured learning experience with live in-person training covering CMMC fundamentals, scoping, and the CMMC Assessment Process. Students will also have access to guided learning modules to reinforce key concepts and ensure full preparation for certification.

Course Objectives

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the CMMC Assessment Process (CAP) Documentation to assist in representing or preparing an organization for formal assessment by a C3PAO
  • Understand key CMMC historical building blocks and applicable DIB regulatory obligations
  • Apply concepts around identifying, handling, marking, storing, labeling, and safeguarding FCI and CUI according to NARA and NIST 800-171
  • Understand Level 1 and Level 2 Scoping criteria according to the CMMC 2.0 Documentation
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the correlation of NIST 800-171 controls across all domains and all 110 practices
  • Describe and compare roles and responsibilities of organizations and individuals across the CMMC-AB ecosystem
  • Define, understand, and implement methods to fulfil NIST 800-171 Assessment Objectives within each control according to CMMC 2.0 Documentation
  • Identify legal obligations and ethical considerations of any CMMC-AB credentialed, registered, or certified professionals
  • Understand all aspects and management of conflicts with the Code of Professional Conduct (CoPC)

Course Description

This is the hybrid curriculum for the CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) course offered by Edwards Performance Solutions at the CEIC West 2025 conference. The in-person portions of this class will take place May 19-20, 2025 at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, NV. Following the live portions of the class, virtual portions of this class will take place via Zoom June 2-4, 9:00 – 5:00 Eastern Time. Students enrolled in this curriculum are expected to attend all in-person and virtual portions of this class.

This course provides in-depth knowledge of the CMMC Model and the technical background required for an Assessor to successfully participate on a C3PAO assessment team, or a consultant to successfully prepare an organization for their Level 2 CMMC Assessment. In this 5-day deep dive of the CMMC model, we navigate multiple company scenarios to demonstrate the application of the NIST 800-171 Framework/ CMMC controls, relevant assessment objectives, and evidence requirements pertaining to the Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA) learning objectives. This course is taught using multiple scenario OSC environments varying in size, locations, and on-prem vs. hybrid systems.

After completing the course, students will be eligible to sit for the CCA exam.

Prerequisites

The CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) Exam Prep Course builds on knowledge from the CMMC Certified Professional (CCP) Exam Prep class. While passing the CCP Exam is not a prerequisite for participation in the CCA course, we advise students to come to class with knowledge of the material covered on the CCP Blueprint.

During the CCA Exam Prep Class, we will take a deep-dive into Level 2 Scoping, the Assessment Process, and the individual practices listed in the CMMC Assessment Guide Level 2. Please come to class with a familiarity with these topics’ source documents.

Certified CMMC Assessor course participants are not permitted to take the CCA exam until they have completed a CCP course and passed the CCP exam. It is recommended that prospective students review the CCA Blueprint and requirements for becoming a CMMC Assessor prior to registering if interested in receiving full CCA certification with the accompanying benefits.

This CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA) course combines in-person and virtual learning for a comprehensive training experience. The in-person sessions will focus on Scoping, the CMMC Assessment Process, and Evaluating an OSC against CMMC Level 2. The virtual portion will take a deep dive into CMMC Model Level 2 Practices, ensuring students are fully prepared for certification.

  • Learn how to perform, manage, and score assessment objectives in accordance with the established methods and requirements of NIST SP 800-171 DoD Assessment Methodology, Version 1.2.1.
  • Participate in the CMMC Assessment Process throughout each phase, with a thorough understanding of assessment outputs and expectations.
