This course provides in-depth knowledge of the CMMC Model and technical background required for an Assessor to successfully participate on a C3PAO assessment team or a consultant to successfully prepare an organization for their Level 2 CMMC Assessment. In this 5-day deep dive of the CMMC model, we navigate multiple company scenarios to demonstrate the application of the NIST 800-171 Framework/CMMC controls, relevant assessment objectives, and evidence requirements as they pertain to CCA learning objectives. This course is taught using multiple scenario OSC environments varying in size, locations, and on-prem vs. hybrid systems.

Students will receive in-depth technical and administrative perspectives from Provisional Instructors who are also Provisional Assessors currently working through NIST SP 800-171 assessments. After completing the course, students will be eligible to sit for the CCA exam.

This is a 5-day hybrid course, with a portion of the course taking place via Zoom following the conclusion of the conference. We will spend 3 days (November 18-20) in class discussing Scoping, the CMMC Assessment Process, and Evaluating an OSC against CMMC Level 2. We will reconvene via Zoom December 2-3 to do a deep-dive in the CMMC Model Level 2 Practices.

  • Learn how to perform, manage, and score assessment objectives in accordance with the established methods and requirements of NIST SP 800-171 DoD Assessment Methodology, Version 1.2.1.
  • Participate in the CMMC Assessment Process throughout each phase, with a thorough understanding of assessment outputs and expectations.

Impact on DoD Contractors

CMMC is a game-changer for DoD contractors. It will be included in select DoD Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and will affect every DoD contractor and subcontractor. Failure to achieve CMMC can result in not being awarded DoD contracts.

About CMMC

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is a unified cybersecurity standard for future Department of Defense (DoD) acquisitions. It is designed to provide increased assurance that a DIB contractor can adequately protect controlled unclassified information (CUI) at a level commensurate with the risk.

About Edwards

Edwards Performance Solutions champions cutting-edge cyber programs and CMMC education, emphasizing the interplay between technological innovation and the human element in information security. Collaborating with industry and government leaders, we harness expert insights, blending theoretical acumen with practical applications. Our initiatives are designed to propel the cybersecurity field forward, enriching the collective expertise of the community.

Edwards and the CMMC Ecosystem

The first organization certified by the Cyber AB to support the entire CMMC ecosystem

Edwards is an Authorized CMMC Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) with Provisional Assessors on staff, ready to support your formal CMMC assessment. Contact Info@EdwPS.com today!

Edwards is an RPO, but more importantly, our consultants are also CMMC Provisional Assessors. In fact, many of our consultants teach our CCP classes and developed our curriculum. Learn more.

As an LPP, Edwards developed the curriculum to train the assessment community using cybersecurity SMEs and ISDs. Our courses prepare individuals to do the job an OSC expects when they hire a CMMC Professional.

As an LTP, Edwards uses our own renowned curriculum to train members of the OSC team, consultants, supporting organizations (e.g., MSPs), and of course the assessors themselves. View our courses.
